Founded in Modena in 1991, the Law Firm bears the name of the person who strongly wanted it, Lawyer Monica Rustichelli. The original and innovative idea has never changed, improved experience after experience, and always kept up to date technologically for the protection of privacy and communications: to provide assistance in all fields of national and international civil law. For every issue, the search for a solution: labour law, corporate law, commercial law, assistance in the preliminary stages of the acquisition of shares, equity interests, companies and assets. The firm, based in Modena, overlooks the beautiful Piazza Grande, a jewel of Emilia, but its vision for clients is borderless, with successful engagements all over the world.

Monica Rustichelli and the members of her staff speak, correspond and handle the drafting of contracts in English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch. The Modena-based firm has a well-established network of correspondents, with whom it has collaborated for years, while always remaining the sole real point of contact. Its distinguishing feature lies in combining a range of international services within a “team” dimension that allows for direct, personal contact with the client, accurate risk assessments, and a realistic analysis of the cost-benefit ratio.

How did the idea come about, in the early 1990s, of setting up a law firm in the centre of Modena, yet open to the world, specialising – among other things – in international civil law?

“From my own life. Ever since I was a child I travelled the world with my parents and my sisters. I was born in Carpi, I feel strongly Emilian, I have always had important clients from this area, but also around Italy, in Rome as well as Milan or Florence. However, honestly, I have always felt international in my DNA. I lived and worked in the Netherlands and in Germany, and I travel whenever I can: having no boundaries, mental or physical, is a huge advantage even in the legal world. To find the right solution to a problem, you need technical expertise and a broad vision, without borders.”

Modena, then, a starting point.

“It's my city, where I live, where I graduated, where in 1990 I was admitted to the Bar. Where, precisely, I wanted to build my Firm. Modena and its surrounding area are, however, far more international than one might imagine. Ferrari, Pavarotti, Bottura: these are brands known throughout the world, just like the many companies operating in the food or ceramics sectors. Since there was always a need for a lawyer with a good command of languages, I decided to create a firm ‘tailored’ to this purpose, expanding it year after year, building a network of correspondents and clients, both Italians working abroad and foreigners operating in our country.”
